CUPSI 09, part I

-Me, Sierra, Sam Cook, homeless ryan k, Coach Riley, Joe.

-At 11pm Tuesday, in Minneapolis, we found out we had to have a University official sign some forms for us in order to compete. We were about to e-mail our profs begging for help, when Joe says "My uncle is a professor at the U! Uncle Bob!" The Spirit at work.

-The car ride was a long emotional roller coaster. It was rough for a while, until Wednesday at like 5pm. We ran poems, listened to Dispatch. The family-communion had begun. I thought about Dimitra. It was the happiest and most complete I've felt in a long, long time. I wanted to be barefoot and dancing in a thunderstorm.

-When we got in, about 11pm Wednesday, we immediately got up with SUNY New Paltz. We went out to the Blarney Stone with Omni, Tracy, our fam, and Sam Cook's sister Emma. We had a great time.

-Thursday morning, I got up and got coffee with Kevin and James from UC-Santa Cruz. We discussed the theory & merits of group poems and the love/communion that is CUPSI.

-Today, we get lunch with Sierra's sister, then practice, then team orientation, then bouts. We have the 2nd bout, 9pm, with Santa Cruz, Brandeis, & Eastern Michigan.
